Halloween!

 It was a mad dash to get 2 kids dressed and ready for trick-or-treating in downtown Clemson.  Baker loved being Ariel and Palmer was a good sport about being her side-kick, Sebastian.   Can you tell Baker was excited to meet up with great friend from school, Wyatt! Baker knows how to keep Wyatt in check!   Palmer did so well for his 1st time trick-or-treating.  A lady tried to give him candy and when I said he was only 5 months old, she tried to give him crackers!  I then told her he doesn’t have any teeth and only drinks formula.  After trick-or-treating in downtown Clemson we went to Clemson 1st Baptist for their trunk-or-treating.  Baker was thrilled to meet up with Sara, a friend from her class. 

Our last stop of the night was to see Gi-Gi and Uncle Nick. 

Palmer was so happy to be out of his costume so he could eat his feet!  They’re his favorite treat!

“Pumpkin Patch Time”, says Baker!

It’s so much fun to see Baker enjoy every moment of life!  This was our 3rd year taking her to Denver Downs and each year it only gets better!   She went down the slide at least 20 times!

These pictures have me a little worried about what’s to come in the years ahead!  She saw a stage and asked if she could “pose” for us!

Baker, with Daddy’s help, found our “just right pumpkin”.  Palmer looks excited doesn’t he!  He was wonderful the entire visit.  He had plenty of people watching to keep him entertained!  Just think, next year I won’t be able to keep him contained! Keep your tongue in Baker!  Oh the fun she had on the bouncy pillow.  It was such a joy to see the excitement on Baker’s face as she explored the entire farm.  What a blessing it is to be her parents!

4 Month Update…Finally!

 

Palmer, I’m only 2 weeks late on updating you with all the wonderful things that have done this month.  I’m not sure of your weight and height because your 4 month check-up was rescheduled for next week.  We spent this past month trying to figure out what was making you so unhappy and we discovered that you are allergic to milk.  We hope it’s something you’ll grow out of.  You were crying all the time and needed to be held. Things are much better now!

Since changing to a milk free formula you have been so happy and really put on some weight.  We think you’re teething because your hands are always in your mouth. You really want to chew on your feet!  It’s your goal every day!   

You’re in size 3 diapers and size 6 to 9 month clothes.  You love to sleep on your left side with your thumb in your mouth.

Your daddy fed you apple cereal for the 1st time and you ate it like it was your job!  You knew exactly what to do and loved every bite. 

Palmer’s Baptism!

 

It worked out perfectly!  Colin was in Atlanta for work, so he was able to join us for Palmer’s baptism.  Mary surprised us!  She was able to make it from Arizona, at the last minute.  It was extra special to have Palmer’s godparents at the service!

Baker thought she was at the alter to pose!  I was wondering why so many people were laughing during the service!   

Papa B, my grandfather, baptized me and Baker.  We decided to let him just relax for this family event! Rev. Keith Ray at Clemson United Methodist Church performed the service.

All my brothers!   After the service, we had everyone over for lunch.  We enjoyed a delicious taco bar, thanks to Mary for her “authentic” skills in the kitchen. We still claim Brett, even though he graduated from Carolina! We made an attempt to do the “Heeley Girl” pose!  It needs a lot of work! The mamas and their boys!

It was a wonderful and memorable day!  A great celebration with the ones we love!

1st Day of School!

At Baker’s open house, I warned her teachers that she dresses herself in the morning.  It’s something I have no control over!  This picture is a wonderful example of Baker’s “style”.  On Tuesday, August 22nd Baker started in the 3 year old class.  She loves being in Ms. Terria and Mr. Austin’s class.   It was also my 1st day of school, so Lacy took Baker.  He said that she broke his heart.  She walked right into her classroom and gave him a big wave.  He had to chase her down for a hug and kiss goodbye.  Our little girl is growing up!

3 Months

Palmer, you turned 3 months on Monday, August 27th.  You have been super busy this month! 

• You started daycare and are really adjusting well.  I love to pick you up each afternoon and see that precious smile! 
• Family members came from all over to celebrate your baptism at Clemson United Methodist Church on Sunday, August 26th.
• You were so thoughtful and started sleeping through the night, in your crib, the week I started back to work.
• Your favorite place to hang out is still your changing table! It always makes you smile.
• You love to smile, but it takes a lot to get you to laugh!
• You’re eating 60z every 3 hours and are in size 2 diapers.
• No shots this month!  Thank the Lord!
• You’re loved so very much!
