Heading South!

Baker and I decided to make a visit to the lower part of the state for a nice weekend with the family! We started the weekend off with a delicious dinner at the Mennonite restaurant in Blackville, Miller's Bread Basket. My family picks on me because I choose to get an extra order of mash potatoes for my dessert! Baker agreed! It was the most she'd eaten all week!
This was Lacy's rocking chair when he was little. This weekend was just a Baker and Mommy visit. Lacy had to work in Atlanta. We missed him and Kota, but enjoyed visiting with both sides of our family. It was the 1st time we'd been to Williston since December. It was a much needed visit! We miss our family so much! It's hard to raise a child without your family close by.

Dada!

Lacy welcomed in spring by doing some yard work. Baker was very unsure what her daddy was doing on that loud riding machine, known as a lawnmower. It was so precious to see her go from the front door, to the window, to the back door to watch her daddy cut the grass.

Standing on her tip-toes and tilting her head to see her daddy melted my heart!

Reading books or watching Dada? What should I do?

This Is How I Brush My Teeth..Brush My Teeth!

I guess we should be happy she enjoys brushing her teeth, even if she prefers to do it while sitting in the sink. I have discussed with Baker, that she will soon out grow the sink!

Little Bookworm!

Reading before heading off to school! After sixteen months of reading to Baker everyday and her showing little interest in my story telling, I was beinging to wonder if Baker would ever have a love for books and reading! I really was scared! Well, the past few weeks have been some of my best moments with Baker. She comes running into the living room with books and climbs into our laps to hear stories! We're not having to put her in her crib, forcing her to listen to a story! Of all the books she has, her favorite is David Gets In Trouble. It has the ugliest and scariest looking character. We read it 4 times a day. I found her sitting on the toilet(seat down) in our bathroom reading the book! I did find some board books by the same author, so Baker has expanded her love for the ugly little character, David.

The Zoo!

Last Sunday, we enjoyed our 1st "real" family day. Baker is at the age we can start doing kid activities with her. The weather was just too perfect to stay indoors. We made our way to the Greenville Zoo and enjoyed a nice picnic.
There wasn't an animal that didn't catch her attention!

After Lacy took this picture Baker took off and went rolling down the hill behind her. It was scary and comical at the same time.

Bop-Bop?

We are entering week 3 of no bop-bop. I must admit, it has not been too bad at all. I dreaded doing this more than getting her off the bottle.
Week 1-no bop-bop in the car or while playing at home
Week 2-no bop-bop at nap (I started this at daycare, they told me she doesn't even cry or ask for it, it wasn't even a big deal for her) She did well this weekend not using it at nap.
Week 3-no bop-bop at bedtime..we tried Saturday and she woke up crying, so I caved in and gave it to her. As I type, she's sleeping peacefully with it in her mouth! She's just so darn cute walking around in her pjs saying "bop-bop? bop-bop?", like it's going to pop out from hiding. Maybe we'll start it tomorrow night.
In addition to walking around wearing coats and bags, she has discovered she loves hats and bibs!
"I'm out of chicken nuggets!" Baker has discovered chicken nuggets and sweet and sour sauce. She even dips her french fries in the sauce. This makes her Uncle Colin proud. He always buys an extra sauce just for his fries.

She's Still Lovin' Them!

Baker and I have really enjoyed our snow day! We've baked our 1st pound cake and it was adorable to see Baker standing in the chair to help me. She loved the batter (yes, I did let her taste it) and she even smeared some on Kota. Baker is still in love with coats and bags!
Bag overload! So..what's the plan Baker? Where are you going?
