A Whole New World!

On Friday when I met my mom to pick Baker up from her stay with GiGi, Popi, Uncle T and Nick, my mom mentioned how shocked I would be to see how well Baker was crawling. Well, I just kinda brushed it aside because grandparents tend to think their grand kids are great at everything. When we arrived home that afternoon, I called my mom with fear in my voice. Baker was EVERYWHERE. There was no stopping her! How will I keep up with her and most importantly protect her? Of course she goes for the most dangerous things such as outlets and anything with a cord. My life with Baker has changed in just one week. Gone are the days of putting her down on the floor while I finished up a few things. My eyes and ears are on high alert with no break. I'm dreading the day she gets her 1st bump on the head.

The bigger Baker is getting, the more protective Kota is of her. Kota was standing at the sliding glass door barking at us because we left him in. When I let him out, he immediately went and stood by her side. When we're in her room playing, he sits out by her door, guarding it.

I have made a "safe shelf" for Baker. Anytime she's in the kitchen she has a pot, spoon, ball and other toys she can play with. It's her own little shelf of fun!

Yes!! After a few minutes of whining, I did notice that her foot was caught in the drawer.

Here's video of Baker on the move!

Listening to God!

Sunday, July 12 was one of the most beautiful days of our family's life. Lacy, Baker, and I were surrounded by our dearest family and friends to celebrate Baker's baptism. It was truly a day filled with love and happiness. The entire day I felt God's hands surrounding us. As I watched my grandfather baptize Baker, listened to his sermon, and sang the hymns I heard God loud and clear. It was the most amazing thing. I often ask him what Lacy and I ever did to deserve each other and such a wonderful symbol of our love, Baker. What a great life we have! (Colin these pictures are for you. We all missed you so much!)

Papa B and my great-grandfather baptized me, now Baker gets to a have wonderful memory of her great-grandfather baptizing her.

My "little" brothers Brett, Nick, and Ted.

We started having flashbacks of taking family pictures at our wedding.

Aunt Amy put Baker sound to sleep. She has the touch because Baker never falls asleep while being held.

Baker was full of smiles with her God Parents, Len and Nicole.

Baker really enjoyed opening her presents. I can't wait to see what she's going to do at Christmas.

Baker really loved the pillow for her great uncle Drew. She sleeps with it every night.

Yes!!! Baker's grandmother BeBe and Uncle Nick let her dig into a piece of cake. Baker enjoyed every minute it.

Bye, bye Aunt Emily! Baker has learned to wave and it's the cutest thing.

A Weekend of First!

Today Baker turns 8 months old! I'm a little shocked how fast our little angel is growing. She is crawling and pulling up on everything she can get her hands on. She seems more interested in holding our hands and taking steps, than crawling. I'm encouraging the crawling. I'm not ready for her to walk! We will have to baby proof the house soon. On Tuesday Baker left us for a little vacation with GiGi and Popi. I only cried a little as they pulled out the driveway, then it was off to work. Lacy and I are tackling organizing our garage. We're on day 2! I pick Baker up Friday in Greenwood. I miss her so much, but I know she's having a blast and will be rotten when she returns. While visiting GiGi and Popi this past weekend she experienced her 1st lawnmower ride and popsicle. VROOM! VROOM!
I take this job seriously!

GiGi had to hold me over the popsicle because my fingers were numb from holding the popsicle.

YUM! I love this new taste! It really feels good on my gums.

Summer Reading!

One of my favorite things to do with Baker is read to her. She really enjoys looking at the pictures, chewing on the pages, and I would like to think listening. Now reading is even better in her "Just My Size"chair. Thank you Nicole and Len! I know she will enjoy this for years to come especially if she stays this petite! :)

Kota Man!

As I was downloading pictures to the computer (I needed to empty my memory card for our big event this weekend, Baker's baptism) and I noticed that Kota needed some blog lovin! Most of the pictures I have of him are sleeping on the couch! I promise Kota is a very active dog! I will try to get more action shots of him chasing squirrels, birds, and playing with any dog/person he comes in contact with. Even my calendar is overwhelming for the dog!
Only Kota would find a way to sleep under the pillow!

It Doesn't Take Much!

Baker was like a little old woman, she loved watching the cars go by while visiting her Great-Grandmother Gin-Gin.

Lacy and I are so very lucky that Baker is such a *delightful child. It really does not take much to entertain her. I would love to know what goes on in that "brilliant" brain of hers. *She's not as delightful this week...teething is in full swing. She has her 2 bottom teeth, but is working on more. Thank goodness for teething biscuits (the child LOVES to eat) and teething tablets. Of course she wants to be held all the time and I do my best to fulfill her wishes! This teething stuff is strange. She's like a different child! This too shall pass!

Too Much!

This weekend we enjoyed a trip to Pinopolis to visit Baker's Great-Grandmother, Aunt and Uncle. We all had such a fun time. Baker enjoyed swimming in Lake Moultrie, playing in the sand, watching the ducks, and swinging for the 1st time. I think her favorite part was being adored by everyone! Yes!! Baker really wakes up this happy!

It feels like Baker has grown-up too fast, in just 1 week! Just this week, she has started crawling (still working on it), pulls up in her crib (we had to move the mattress down) and she can go from her stomach to sitting up. She's been sitting up for a while, but we always had to put her in that position, well..not anymore! We're excited about this weekend! Her great-grandfather is baptizing her. He baptized me and married me and Lacy! What a special moment it's going to be. We'll post pictures!
