2 Months!

July 002

Palmer, you turned 2 months on July 27th, mommy’s birthday!  Your looks are starting to change, but you still have bright red hair!  It’s hard to believe that you will be starting daycare in 2 weeks.  It’s going to be so hard to let you go, but I know you’ll be in good hands.  You’re also going to love being around other babies.

DSC_1409   This month, you moved out of mommy and daddy’s room!  You now sleep in your crib and love it!  We are so lucky!  At bedtime, we just place you in your bed, turn on your mobile (which you love) and you knock out for 4 to 5 hours!  Dr. Moseley said that I need to stop swaddling you.

DSC_1414

You’ve started smiling and love to suck your thumb.  You’re also a talker and eater.  You eat 5 oz every 3 hours!DSC_1428  You weigh 11.8 lbs (34th percentile)

23 inches long (50th percentile)

Of course your head is 15.7 in,  the 77th percentile!

Time for Family!

June 026

Since the end of June, Palmer has been busy spending time meeting his family!  Colin and Mary made the trip from Phoenix to South Carolina.  We started their visit  in Williston, with a celebration of their November 2011 marriage.

In 1 day, Colin and Lacy built Baker an awesome swing set with a slide and fort!  Baker and Palmer are so lucky to have such a wonderful daddy and uncle!  What a special gift!

Palmer is 1 Month Old!

June 028

It’s hard to believe that you turned 1 month on Wednesday!  Here are some little tidbits about you that I want to remember.

  • You weigh 10 pounds.
  • You’re 21.5 inches long.
  • You smiled for the 1st time!  It melted my heart to see those dimples!
  • You have acid reflux and absolutely hate taking the medicine.  You cry and make the ugliest faces!  I dread giving it to you twice a day!
  • You have a fussy time every evening and it’s usually when we’re sitting down for dinner.
  • You eat every 2 to 3 hours.
  • Tummy time is not your favorite and you usually roll over on your back.
  • You do a fantastic job of going back to sleep after eating during the night.  It makes my nights easier.
  • You took your 1st rode trip to Williston and are a great traveler.  We celebrated your Uncle Colin and Aunt Mary’s wedding.

Princess Dance Camp and More!

DSC_1339Baker decided to set up at the “beach” to read her bible. DSC_1317Last week, Baker had a blast at Ms Fain’s Princess Dance Camp.  Every day they were introduced to a new princess.   DSC_1319We were so proud of her.  At the end of the week, the class put on a performance for the parents.  Oh…it was precious! DSC_1321Palmer was so good!   This is what he did the entire time!DSC_1322The class was large, but the teachers were impressed with how well the kids listened.  Every day they danced, made a princess craft and had a snack.  DSC_1328

I’m still in shock that I’m a mother of 2!  Oh..it’s wonderful!

I think Baker had more fun getting to visit with her friends every day.  Lauren and Baker have been together since they were in the nursery at daycare.

Lauren and Baker were both happy to see Dawson Blair!  She’s going to a new daycare and both these girls miss her.

When Baker wasn’t dancing, she was loving on her little brother!  She loves to hold him and kiss him! DSC_1337

Life with Palmer

June 001Well Palmer, you have been the perfect fit for our family!  God knew what he was doing when he sent you to us.  You’re almost 2 weeks old and so much has happened in this short time.   DSC_1293

Your big sister, Baker, is truly in love with you!  The 1st thing she does when she wakes up and when she gets home from daycare is runs up to you and gives you a big kiss!  She loves reading to you!  This is the first book she can “read” and she was excited to share it with you.  DSC_1294

Palmer facts….

  • You have so many friends and family who love you.  Our family has been so blessed with visitors to see you, delicious meals and little boy clothes.
  • You only cry when it’s time to eat (we know we’re lucky!) and are the best snuggler there is!  Your dad says I have you spoiled, but that’s ok.  I learned with your big sister that this goes by way too fast for me to pass up!
  • You’re in 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers.
  • You’re past your birth weight of 8.1
  • We are scheduled to take you to a hearing specialist in 2 weeks.  The hospital referred you because you only have 50% hearing in your left hear.  Your doctor thinks it’s just fluid, so we’re not very worried.  We know that God has it all under control.DSC_1305 Every day, Baker searches for a Big Sister shirt to wear.

It’s a Boy!

DSC_1197 My last “belly” shot at 39 weeks!  Can you tell Baker was excited that we were leaving for the hospital or she was excited to be going swimming…I’m not sure which!DSC_1206Palmer Fritz Williams arrived very quickly!   I arrived at the hospital at 5pm.  I received an epidural at 8:00 pm, started pushing at 1:10am and he arrived at 1:37pm.  It was a quick, but intense delivery.  The cord was wrapped around his neck twice.  I thought that might have been the case when his heart rate kept dropping with each contraction.  DSC_1218

Lacy and I were so surprised it was a boy!  We had both convinced ourselves that we were having a 2nd little girl.  DSC_1224

This wasn’t Lacy’s 1st rodeo and he was determined to get a good night’s sleep…so he placed an air mattress on top of the couch!  I referred to him as the “Princess and the Pea”.  The nursing staff said they had never seen anything like it.  Lacy just reminded them that he was the most comfortable dad in the hospital!DSC_1229His 1st bath at 4am!  Sunday was a long day!  Lacy and I were up for over 24 hours without a wink of sleep! DSC_1233Palmer does have red hair! DSC_1237I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this little girl!  She, on the other hand, couldn’t wait to get her hands on her little brother.  In this picture, she is opening a gift from Palmer.  Lacy warned me about this, but Baker asked how Palmer could’ve picked out a gift for her.  I just looked at her and didn’t know what to say.  Baker replied… “Did he just stick his hand out of your belly and put the present in the buggy?”  I still didn’t know what to say, but she seemed satisfied with her own answer that I just let her think it!DSC_1238 DSC_1243Well…Palmer didn’t get Nick’s birthday, but he did get Uncle Nick’s red hair.  DSC_1246 Baker loves to hold Palmer and give him kisses.  She keeps asking us if she can “cough” (burp) Palmer.  DSC_1255

Palmer is such a snuggler!   All you have to do is feed and change him!  He is such a relaxed baby!

DSC_1265 Baker was so excited to see her Gran-Dan!

DSC_1266

Proud Aunt Emily made the 2.5 hour drive to meet her 1st nephew!

DSC_1267

Grandpa and Grandma were so excited to meet their 1st grandson!

DSC_1272

Great-Grandparents Papa B and Grammy surprised us with a visit on Sunday evening.  We had such a nice visit with them.  DSC_1276Palmer loved snuggling with his Great Aunt Laura!

DSC_1277

While we were in the hospital, Baker enjoyed spending time with her Bebe.  They did some swimming, planting flowers, shopping for Palmer, cleaning the house and decorating the mailbox, to announce the arrival of Baby Palmer.
