Palmer’s Baptism!

  August 007

It worked out perfectly!  Colin was in Atlanta for work, so he was able to join us for Palmer’s baptism.  Mary surprised us!  She was able to make it from Arizona, at the last minute.  It was extra special to have Palmer’s godparents at the service!August 012

Baker thought she was at the alter to pose!  I was wondering why so many people were laughing during the service!  August 026 August 028

Papa B, my grandfather, baptized me and Baker.  We decided to let him just relax for this family event!August 040 August 047 August 051 Rev. Keith Ray at Clemson United Methodist Church performed the service.

All my brothers!   After the service, we had everyone over for lunch.  We enjoyed a delicious taco bar, thanks to Mary for her “authentic” skills in the kitchen. August 061We still claim Brett, even though he graduated from Carolina! It was a wonderful and memorable day!  A great celebration with the ones we love!

1st Day of School!

August 005At Baker’s open house, I warned her teachers that she dresses herself in the morning.  It’s something I have no control over!  This picture is a wonderful example of Baker’s “style”.  On Tuesday, August 22nd Baker started in the 3 year old class.  She loves being in Ms. Terria and Mr. Austin’s class.   August 006 It was also my 1st day of school, so Lacy took Baker.  He said that she broke his heart.  She walked right into her classroom and gave him a big wave.  He had to chase her down for a hug and kiss goodbye.  Our little girl is growing up!

3 Months

August 099 Palmer, you turned 3 months on Monday, August 27th.  You have been super busy this month!

  • You started daycare and are really adjusting well.  I love to pick you up each afternoon and see that precious smile!
  • Family members came from all over to celebrate your baptism at Clemson United Methodist Church on Sunday, August 26th.
  • You were so thoughtful and started sleeping through the night, in your crib, the week I started back to work.
  • Your favorite place to hang out is still your changing table! It always makes you smile.
  • You love to smile, but it takes a lot to get you to laugh!
  • You’re eating 60z every 3 hours and are in size 2 diapers.
  • No shots this month!  Thank the Lord!
  • You’re loved so very much!

Our Last Summer Get-Away!

We spent last week touring SC’s Low Country, making wonderful memories with family and friends.  We started our week in Bluffton, visiting our friends who just moved to the area.  For some reason, I didn’t take one picture!!  DSC_1437 We made a short stop at Edisto Beach to visit Granny and GranDan.  Can you tell  Baker was so excited?

DSC_1447 The ocean was rough from recent storms, but that didn’t stop Baker.  She laughed and smiled through every wave.  I think it helped that her GranDan was there with her!DSC_1449 DSC_1451 DSC_1453Palmer’s 1st visit to the ocean was short and sweet!  The overcast was nice, but after a few minutes it was just too hot for him.  I think we’ll see a lot more action from him on next year’s visit! We also spent a few days at Yonge’s Island visiting Great-Aunt Anne and Great-Uncle Merlin. DSC_1460

I said, “Baker can you tell that Aunt Anne and Bebe are sisters?”  Her reply was “Yes!  They are both old!”. DSC_1461 DSC_1464 DSC_1466

Our last stop was to see GinGin!  We enjoyed every minute spending time with our friends and family.  What a great way to end the summer!DSC_1468

I love this moment that Lacy captured!  I can just see the love they have for each other!

Palmer’s 1st Week of Daycare!

DSC_1472

Well, we all survived our 1st week back to reality!  Getting 2 kids out the door and on time for work requires great planning.   I loved the sign they made to welcome Palmer to their class.  It was a great feeling to know that he will be loved and well taken care of.  DSC_1469 It was really hard to let Palmer go!  I have truly enjoyed every moment snuggling with my little man. (Oh how I cried on and off, all day Monday!)  Ms. Amanda and Ms. Susan made the transition a lot easier.  On the 2nd day I dropped Palmer off, I asked Ms. Amanda where she wanted me to put Palmer and she said “right here in my arms”.  Oh…that made my heart happy and made it so much easier to make it through the day!

This was Baker’s 1st day of daycare with Ms. Barbara.  We have been so lucky to have such wonderful people take care of our babies!

DSC_1470 It’s ironic…Palmer’s crib is in the same spot as Baker’s was!DSC_1471 Baker is so proud to have her little brother join her at school!

2 Months!

July 002

Palmer, you turned 2 months on July 27th, mommy’s birthday!  Your looks are starting to change, but you still have bright red hair!  It’s hard to believe that you will be starting daycare in 2 weeks.  It’s going to be so hard to let you go, but I know you’ll be in good hands.  You’re also going to love being around other babies.

DSC_1409   This month, you moved out of mommy and daddy’s room!  You now sleep in your crib and love it!  We are so lucky!  At bedtime, we just place you in your bed, turn on your mobile (which you love) and you knock out for 4 to 5 hours!  Dr. Moseley said that I need to stop swaddling you.

DSC_1414

You’ve started smiling and love to suck your thumb.  You’re also a talker and eater.  You eat 5 oz every 3 hours!DSC_1428  You weigh 11.8 lbs (34th percentile)

23 inches long (50th percentile)

Of course your head is 15.7 in,  the 77th percentile!
