Lacy's 1st Father's Day!

Baker enjoyed helping me wrap Lacy's gifts. She even enjoyed trying to eat the wrapping paper roll. She puts everything in her mouth! Oh the trouble she's going to get into when she starts crawling.
I just love a barefoot baby in the summer time. I'm really going to make a effort to send Baker to daycare a couple times a week this summer because I'm getting too attached to her. I'm afraid it's going to be too hard to let her go in August when I start back to work. I just love it when she puts her arms up for me to pick her up. I can't help but to pick her up every time. I know it's going to make her rotten. It melts my heart too much just to leave her there!

Lacy really enjoyed his 1st Father's Day. The day was all about him. From the time he woke up we tried to make it extra special because he is such a great dad. We let him relax and watch golf the entire day. That was so hard for me b/c everyone knows how much I LOVE golf. Yahoo! It even lasted until Monday! Now it's onto the College World Series. On Friday, when he picked Baker up from daycare Baker had a Father's Day gift for daddy. It was his footprint beside Baker's, along with a sweet poem. It's a "framer"!

Grandpa Makes a Visit

Yummy! All toys taste so good!
Last week grandpa made a visit to Seneca just to see me! We had a nice time playing and eating. I was so happy he made special trip for me. I especially loved taking a bath on the kitchen counter because the power went out for about 9 hours. The bathroom was just too dark.
We had one hot night with no air!

Slumber Party!

Baker even makes me smile while she sleeps. It melted my heart to hear her laugh in her sleep. I want her dreams! As you can see from this picture, she loves sleeping with her Baby Bunny. It scares me how much she likes to sleep with it covering her face. While Lacy was out of town this week, I thought it would be fun to break the rules and have Baker sleep with me. Let's just say...I only did it one night. A king size bed was not big enough for both of us. Baker decided it would be fun to perform an acrobatic act the entire night. I really think she moved the entire night. On the 2nd night Baker and I both had a very restful night in our own beds. I told her we would try again, maybe when she's a little older.

Baker's Weekend of Fun!

Lacy has been bugging me to have Baker and I join him and Kota for a day at the lake. They go all the time. I surprised him Saturday by saying yes and loading up the car. We found a shady spot and enjoyed a lovely morning of playing in the sand and swimming.

Baker had a fun afternoon watching the College World Series with Daddy! I think she was just as happy as Lacy to see North Carolina lose.

Her 1st big book. I think we'll stick to the board books for a while because she was very interested in eating the big pages.

Baker loves to sleep with Baker Bear(it has her name embroidered on it) or her Baby Bunny. It's a must for her to have in order to have a successful nap or night of sleep. This child is weird! She doesn't like to snuggle with anyone to go to sleep, but will cuddle with her stuffed animals!

Kota has been a little lazy the past couple of days. The doctor put him on allergy medicine. Poor baby!

Baker had fun celebrating Landon's 1st birthday. She really enjoyed the cake and flirting with Landon.

Baker is such a fun kid! I have really enjoyed spending extra time with her this summer and look forward to many more days of fun. She is trying to crawl, but goes backwards. I'm not looking forward to her crawling because I know how much work it's going to be to keep up with her and to keep her out of trouble. She's going to be 7 months old tomorrow! Where does the time go???

A Look at Our New Home!

Here's a look at our new home. These pictures were taken after we conquered the painting. Thanks mom for taking these. (I'm missing pictures of the guest bedroom and bath).

Full of Life

Baker has had one exciting week! It is truly a blessing to experience life with Baker. She has such a love for life. Take a look at what she's been up to! So sweet! Colin and Mary were able to spend a few nights with us in Seneca, before making the next leg of their trip to Williston. Baker found a comfy place to take her morning nap. (No..this picture was not staged. They really were both asleep.) Remember...Colin was missing 3 hours of sleep.
Oh...after this picture was taken we got in the car to head back to Seneca, and I just cried! The next time we'll see Colin will be at Christmas. It's just more motivation to get out to Arizona to visit him.
We had such a nice time getting to know Mary. She fit right in with us. I'm hoping that a visit to the south didn't scare her away.

Yes!! Lacy and I attended our last Williston-Elko High School graduation. Nicky graduated with honors on Friday. It rained so much they actually had to have graduation in the auditorium. That was a mess, but I'm so happy that we could all be there to celebrate with our baby brother. We enjoyed a late night BBQ after graduation. Nicky will become a Clemson Tiger in August. I'm so happy to have 2 of my brothers so close.

Baker did well for her 1st graduation ceremony. I only had to take her out once because she was babbling so loud. After an hour of people-watching, bouncing, and babbling, she feel asleep in my arms. I was so shocked because Baker is not a snuggler. She likes to have room to roll around and stretch out while she sleeps. She doesn't want anything touching her except her teddy bear, baby and pacifier. She must have been exhausted!

Yes!! Kota is still the best dog in the world! He's been enjoying evenings in the yard. He's not really a yard dog, so 20 minutes is his max of yard time and he's ready to come in.

I've been sending Baker to daycare a few days a week to keep her little routine going and we have to pay through the summer to keep our spot. Today when I took her to daycare, she started squealing and jumping up and down. She was so excited to be there. She had missed her teachers and friends. It made me feel better about taking her in the summer. I try to pick her up early enough to where we still have time for afternoons filled with fun. Baker knows how to relax in her pool.

Oh yes! That's a booger hanging out of her nose and she still looks adorable.

We've introduced Baker to a sippy cup. It's not her favorite. I'm beginning to think she really thinks she's a princess. She loves to drink out of it as long as you're holding it for her. We'll keep practicing.

On Saturday, we went to Pinopolis for Gin-Gin's (Baker's great-grandmother) birthday. As you can tell from the picture, Baker was enthralled with Beau the Maltese. Every chance she got, she pulled out hand fulls of fur. Baker's not use to a dog with fur. She thought he was a big fluffy toy.

What a week and this isn't all of it! This is why I still have only unpacked 2 boxes since summer vacation started. This stuff was a lot more fun that unpacking.

Check-Up!

This was before her shots!
Baker went for her 6 month (really 6.5) check-up yesterday! She is now 15.10 lbs and 25.5 inches long. She is in the 50th percentile for weight and head circumference. Oh yes!! She is in the 40th for height, no longer 20th, worrying about being a dwarf! She's growing! The doctor said her ear was looking good. Aunt Mary really cleaned it last night, so the meatloaf is disappearing!

Meatloaf!

Meatloaf has been the name given to Baker's infected ear. Yes!! We made our 1st trip to Urgent Care with Baker on Tuesday night. It all started Saturday with a little scratch on her ear. It was the tiniest little scratch. I never thought anything about it until Monday when I picked her up from daycare. The scratch was a white bubble, like a blister. I started putting Neosporin on it and sent some with her to daycare Tuesday. It had to be reapplied several times since it was located on the top of her ear and would rub on everything. Well...when I picked her up from daycare Tuesday the white bubble was GREEN, very red, and hot! Oh...I called the doctor and she sent me to urgent care after hours. It turns out that little cut led to a staph infection! Baker was not allowed to go to daycare, so on the last day of school Baker joined me! She actually joined everyone else in the school. She really enjoyed strolling to classrooms with the librarian to collect books.
